Follow up: To love or not

After looking at the other blog posts I have realized that love does have a bad side and it is very different from person to person some people want to fall in love others don't. Some want to but not yet, others want to as soon as possible and then theres people like me, I would like to but Im in no rush, whenever it happens it happens because I feel like if you rush or wait to long then that you will miss the chance to fall in love with the right person. I think that that's why divorce happens because you tried to force yourself to do something instead of going with the flow and waiting for that right moment or waiting for the right time to meet the person that you really are looking for that matches all the things that you want in a person. You tried too hard to find that person that you thought was the right person instead of finding the perfect person for you. Falling in love at a young age can be difficult because you think that you know them but over time everyone changes and that someone you thought was perfect isn't so perfect anymore. But on the other side of things a couple can date in high school  and then later on get married, have kids, and spend their entire life together happily until they're both gone. This often appears in movies but it can occur in some instances. As I was reading over the blogs I came across many different, very good ideas showing different perspectives, but one stood out in my head as a very good point. On Cam Nearys blog it says that someone in most movies there is a protagonist that is without love and are grumpy all the time and then at the end they find love and completely change and I thought of The Christmas Carol as a perfect example of Scrooge Living a life full of sorrow, dad after day grumpy because he hates christmas, but in the end he is basically starting a new life rejuvenated by the love he has for christmas. In this case it is not necessarily love for a person but for a view. This shows that for some people love represents happiness and how much of it love can bring.

To love or not to love

I think that it is important to fall in love. Mostly everyone in their life will fall in love at some point. And at that point i think that no matter what even if they break up, divorce, or whatever, that they will still always love each other because at one point they found a reason too and that reason will always be there. By not falling in love with someone, you aren't allowing yourself to fully experience life. Love is a part of the cycle of life, you grow up with your families love, then you marry someone and love them, making the decision to have kids and love them. Without falling in love with someone than you miss the chance to share happiness with them and build a family. Of course this is not what all people want, but for the majority of people it is. It can be a problem to fall in love early because you don't know if you actually love them or not, or if you just think you love them. But once you actually fall in love and marry someone you will be able to tell that you actually fell in love.

None is enough reflection

Theres allways one experience in life that either makes, or breaks you. If you're on 16 and pregnant then you definately didnt do it right. But for many other adults they want kids to have someone to care for and watch grow up. I would want kids when it is that time in my life whenever it may be becuase I would like a big family as i don't have one. Having kids not only grows your love for them but also builds the relationship between the couple, by having to raise him/her together and make important decisions together. But having a child is not always how they make it seem in the commercials, there are many cons or struggles that come with having a baby. That includes finances. You have to pay for everything from the day their born till after they go to college. Unless they get a job but that only pays for so much. I think that you dont really think about the money too much because if you really want a child then your willing to put your whole life on hold to meet their needs. At that point you won't think about the money part of it. The part of having a child that makes you want to is watching them grow from the day they are born. Watching them take their first steps, playing sports, making friends, going to school, go to college and then their gone, obviously im not a parent but I can't imagine the experience of dropping your son or daughter off at college realizing that you have done everything you could do to get them to this point in their life. The emotions of sadness and happiness that you, were once in their place at one point. Today in class we talked about/watched a video on caring for your parents when they eventually need you as the grow old. I think it is very important to help your parents at this stage of their life becuase if you think back on your entire life, not once has your mother or father not helped you when you needed it. Because that's what family is there for. So you should be able to help them even if it takes away from your life becuase they were once staying up all night comforting you when you were crying.

interview

Me: mom i have to ask you some questions about parenting.
mom: okay
me: what age were you when you had me and bryanna (my sister)?
mom: uhm, i was 25 when bryanna was born and 28 when I had you.
me: do you wish you waited to have kids?
mom: not at all, if i had waited any longer done anything different then you wouldnt be here and i would have different children.
me: oh ya, I never thought about it like that. Anyway, How did you decide where to raise me?
mom: well at the time whe had you and your sister we were living in Norton. After Bryanna had gone through 5th grade we decided to ove to mansfield becuase grandma was selling her house, the one that I grew up in actually and didnt want you going to the schools in Norton.
me: yeah that would be horrible to still live there. But whats the most sacraficing thing you have ever done for me.
mom: uhm to be honest i dont really know haha its hard to pick out one thing in particular over the past 16 years i think that i do a lot though whether it taking you to practice all the time, or buying you clothes or whatever it is that day but it all adds up and i try to do whatever I can to put a smile on your face.
me: I know i dont say it all the time but i really do appreciate everything you and dad do for me, whether i say it or not. You and dad are role models and i cant thank you enough, i just wish i could give back the same amount that you do for me.
mom: Well Branden thats what being a parent is all about, Dad an I go to work everyday so we can give you the best that we can, and once you grow up and have kids you wont do things for them to get a reward you'll do it because you love them.
me: yeah i get it, that means a lot. Is the way you parent us iinfluenced by the way you were raised by your parents?
mom: yeah of course, My parents were very strict but they also obviously cared about me a lot. And that goes for a lot of parents too.
me: alright i think were done here, thanks mom

These lips can't wait to taste your skin, baby, no, no
And these eyes, yeah, can't wait to see your grin, ooh ooh baby

Daily Exposures

I think that the daily exposures make me think about the world differently. Especially the Video ones with the visual to go along with it as they bring a perspective of someones story in their life. I think the one where the Grandfather that owned the appt. building and had his family over every sunday  was very interesting because it showed the family coming together for a tradition. And then having to move out and how he and the boys destroying the windows not only representing anger but also the destruction of the family as they now do not live together or visit each other anymore. This story made me think about how important it is to spend time with family because it could get broken up at any time. Another daily exposure that made me see the world differently is the picture of the african american boy starving, and how we all whether we realize it or not take food, water, anything, for granted. As kids get angry about their parents not letting them do something or buy something, there are people like the boy in this picture that are suffering from much worse things. Even though many people do have it bad, someone out there has it worse.

Difficult Conversation

"Hey you" the store manager yelled as I ran out the door with a pocket full of gold. He was a heavy-boned man so I knew this would be an easy steal but i forgot to factor in the mall cops/police. I ran all the way to the bottom floor and my buddy was waiting for me at the gate. I jumped in and we were gone like the wind, or well, we thought we were. There were at least 10 police cars rolling in and the logic between me and my friend and I was, we were already going to jail so why not try and escape. We gunned it by them and took off from there. I shot the cop cars tires and that was that. We stole an random car nearby and that was that. We continued our lives from there as if tht day had never happened.

Teens can learn from kids by Adora Svitak

I think that this generation of kids is ignorant or immature just as much as the next guy but Adora brings up some very good points. She says that being childish is not necessarily a bad thing as the world needs these ideas from kids. I definitely agree with that because children do have creativity and  ideas but they are just not capable of presenting them. That doesn't go for all children but most children do not understand how to world works therefore how are they supposed to come up with ideas that will help spark a change in society, especially if their parents aren't listening. I do think that there are some children that can come up with these ideas but not enough.

Best Friend Ad

I want a friend who knows how to have a good time, can't be having a boring person. They should also be somewhat athletic or enjoys doing outdoor activities. You should be very trust worthy, if you lie alot then you're going to get the boot. Another thing you need to do is make sure you're funny because if you're not then why would I want you as my friend. Another trait you should acquire is dependible, if I need you and rely on you then your gonna need to be there for me. I also want a friend that won't run away and act like a little girl if we get in a fight. One lats thing is you can not complain about everything or be cocky/self centered. If you think you match this criteria then let me know and we can be friends.

Perspective

I hang in the closet, the door opens awakening me as light begins to shine through. My owner, Sheldon  picks me out to be the lucky shirt in his outfit today. Little did I know it would be the worst day of my life. He lies me down on the ironing board and begins burning my whole body to a crisp, AHHHH! I screamed as loudly. This feeling was the worst I have experienced. I really thought him and I had a friendship brewing up but after this, I don't know. I get through the first tragedy hoping there would be no more. He then puts me on and we are on our way to Mansfield high school. We stop at dunkin donuts for an ice cold coffee and continue on our way. We approach the parking lot at MHS and proceed in. But then of course, to make my day that much worse one of his co-workers bumps into us and the coffee spills right onto me. You can only imagine how mad i was, it dried and got me unbelievably sticky as the day moved on. I was praying this day could only get better. But sure enough, the high school doesn't have air conditioning, causing Sheldon to start sweating, dampening me more than i already was. Now i felt like I was at the bottom of the barrel and just wanted my life to end. I really don't think a friendly trip to the dry cleaning could fix me. Trying to nap the time away to get through the day but I just couldn't fall asleep. This truly was the worst day of my life and I just wanted it to end.

The ingredients of enthusiasm

For me, I am enthusiastic about learning when something catches my attention. When the teacher changes it up and makes a different, unique way of learning other than taking notes and reading from a book. Taking notes is brutal for me because I do that in most classes and usually just write the information down just to get it down without actually taking it in to memory. English has, for the most part,  put me to sleep every year so far for many reasons, one being becuase i hate reading and I'm not the best writer. One thing I enjoy learning about current events in the world today although I think it is important to know about the past, I am more enthusiastic about whats happening in the world today. My favorite subject, or the one I am most interested about is science because its different from the rest of the classes and there are more ways to learn information such as labs to give you a hands on type of learning. Basically if the teacher keeps me involved in the convorsation or topic rather than just talking the whole time, than i am most likely to be engaged in the topic making me more enthusiastic about actually learning the information.

Courage

Courage is not only having the strength or will to do something, but also doing it with fear and overcoming adversity. An example for me was just a few years ago. When I was 12 I saw a lost dog wondering the street. Being a dog owner myself, I wouldnt want someone just to pass by my runaway dog so I went and brought him back to my house for the time being. The poor little guy looked sick so provided dog food and water. I took the next step by placing many lost dog signs around town in hopes the owner would come by one. Not long after, I recieve a call from the owner who was in grwat relief of the news. He stopped by and thanked me for my courageous act and handed me 50$. I feel like this was courageous becuase I didnt know he was going to give me money but I still took in the dog. Although there was no fear in what I did it is courageous because I could have just ignored the whole situation.

English Goals

My first goal is to improve my writing skills. Not only on writing samples and essays but in my everyday writing.

For my next goal I would like to further my vocabulary as it will improve my writing.

Last, I would like to maintain an overall grade of  a B (85), or higher throughout the period of this class. I feel like if I can accomplish my first two goals then this last one will be easily achievable.
